Visiting Athens for the first time in 1 month, I have some noob questions

Hello, I am planning a typical sea, sun and beach holiday. I am wondering is the sea clean nearby Athens, especially south east of it (e.g., Vouliagmeni Beach, Lagonissi)? The reason why I am asking because I am afraid the dirt might come from the Athens city. PS: Never been…

Reviews Summary
Voula Beach is lauded for its exceptionally clear and clean waters, making it a top choice on the Athenian Riviera. Visitors appreciate the calm, shallow sea ideal for families and the option to find quieter spots away from expensive sunbeds. However, the high cost of sunbed rentals and limited on-site food options are recurring drawbacks.
"The furthest but clearest beach (water quality and sand/ stone). Where Athenians like to go so go figure. 90 minutes from the centre by bus or 35mins by a car."

"I asked some local teenage boys how to get to the beach and they took me through an opening in the damaged fence on the road Leof. Kon/nou Karamanli. I think I went through some type of resort. I guess I bypassed the entrance fee but apparently it is an illegal establishment anyway so locals bypass it all the time.
It was actually very lovely (for Athens city beach standards). It is a lot cleaner than other Athenian beaches, the water is especially clear.
I went to the end of the beach where there are no sun beds, close to the vegetation and nudist beach. There is a beach platform with shade. I went in June and it was quiet (in this non sun bed area) and mostly just locals.
On the other side of the beach there is another area without sunbeds, also lovely but a bit busier with lots of local young people & teenagers playing water sports etc. It is a nice atmosphere though.
In terms of food, there’s not much choice best off eating elsewhere (or bring with you). Sun beds are expensive but just bring your own beach mat."

"Beautiful beachfronts ranging from sand to pebble. My daughter spent HOURS sorting through rocks to find the prettiest souvenir. Clean water, calm tides, and lots of sunshine."
