Reviews Summary

Visitors find Brauron Archaeological Site to be a peaceful and historically significant location, offering a less crowded alternative to major Athenian attractions. The remnants of the Temple of Artemis and the adjacent museum are highlights, providing insight into ancient rituals. While some lament the limited preservation of structures, the overall atmosphere is appreciated for its tranquility and historical depth.

"If you are foreigner I suggest you make a trip out from the city if you hike the way up to the museum.

On your way by foot you will notice that there are some hidden trails that are part of the museum complex itself often the trails are full of water so I will highly recommend wearing clothes to get wet to see the hidden gems of the site.

If you choose to stay dry you can come to the main complex which 90% of people go to and visit the temple as well as the church as well.
A day trip would include visiting the Byzantine church that is nearby driving up will have signs as well.

If you are a member of ICOM like myself you will get free admission otherwise the fees for those who have to pay is not too much.

Going at opining is best to avoid the rush of the tourists as well.

"A must see archaeological site just 10 minutes from the Athens airport the ancient temple of goddess Artemis!!!
Even if you have 2 to 3 hours layover, it’s worth getting a cab and do a stroll in nature and experience this magical place!"

Theo Harris

"Nice place to visit. Wasn't crowded and the museum wasnice too. They charge for the museum and ruins separately. Also, no selfies inside the museum or pictures with people posing with artifacts. Check hours before you go. They closed at 3:30 pm on the day we went."
