"We found ourselves in Vravrona - or rather, in its secluded neighborhood hidden among the hills - where, in the 6th century BC, on a site already inhabited in the Neolithic era, a temple was raised and dedicated to Artemis. Time had concealed it so well that Greek archaeologists only brought it back to light in the 1950s. This was once a significant place of worship, connected to the Athenian Acropolis by a sacred road. Once every four years, a grand procession followed this route, ending at a stone bridge of unique construction, standing near the main temple.
