What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Dog sledding in Ilulissat offers an unforgettable Arctic adventure with stunning scenery and the joy of interacting with enthusiastic huskies. While the experience is highly recommended for its unique thrill and the beauty of the icebergs, some visitors have raised concerns about the welfare of the dogs outside of tour times. Overall, it's a highly praised activity for those seeking an authentic Greenlandic experience.
"Husky sledge tours for rich tourists are a big thing in Greenland, lots of $$$$$. The locals have long moved on to the best of the mechanised transports, huskies are not their gig. The flip side to the Husky tour$ for tourist$ is the field of despair for the huskies as they await the next snow season. We walked towards the Jakobshaven Fjord and incidentally passed by a large field, maybe 100 acres where many 100s of huskies were chained to the ground in deplorable, stinking conditions. Some had a box to shelter, most were chained out in the open in peaty wet slime and worse. Beyond disgraceful."

"Amazing dog sled tour, definitely a full recommendation! The scenery just out of town -and the whole experience- are really worth it. What a wild ride, havenβt laughed so much in a long time. Ane and Flemming were extremely accommodating. We were in Ilulissat entirely out of dog sledding season, but since there was unusual snowfall before we came, we decided to just call them, and they were so nice to open for us in October (!). What an unforgettable experience, such excited dogs on their first outing of the season. You can tell how much Ane and Flemming care about the dogs, really well kept and it was a true pleasure to hear about their stories afterwards with cookies and tea.
Thank you both, David and Ursula"
