Reviews Summary
Casa Santo Domingo is widely praised for its stunning historical ambiance, blending a living museum with luxurious comfort. Guests rave about the beautiful grounds, excellent food, and the serene spa with volcano views. However, some visitors note that service, while generally good, may not always meet the highest international 5-star expectations, and check-in times are strictly enforced.
"Casa Santo Domingo completely blew us away. From the entrance, it feels like you are walking through a living museum. The blend of history, art, and luxury is showcased well.
The rooms were super comfortable and spacious, with a great mix of colonial charm and modern touches. We especially loved the little details, like the handmade soaps and cozy robes. The restaurants (both at the spa and on-site) were wonderful. Delicious food, great drinks, and the delightful service.
Oh, and the pool and spa area? Stunning. We spent a whole afternoon just lounging and soaking in the views. It’s the kind of place you never want to leave.
If you’re coming to Antigua and want something memorable, romantic, and truly unique, you can’t go wrong with Casa Santo Domingo. Highly recommend."

"Their breakfast, room, and the hotel itself is absolutely amazing! I enjoyed going around the hotel when I go on a walk in the morning and they have coffee, tea, and bread in most corners of the hotel for their guests which is rly sweet.
They provide currency exchange for their guests at a great rate(compared to other places in Antigua) but only accept crisp dollars.
Check in time is quite strict so if you come here after your volcano hike be prepared that you will not be able to rest till 3😂"

"This is likely the best Antigua has to offer. While it's listed as a 5-star hotel, don't expect the same level of luxury or service you’d find in a 5-star property in a first-world country. That said, the space itself is beautiful, truly deserving of 5 stars for its design and atmosphere. Water pressure is excellent, also a solid 5 stars. However, as with many hotels in developing regions, service can fall short of the mark. The softer touches and attentiveness you'd expect at this level aren’t quite there. Management appears limited, and it shows in the day-to-day operations. Overall, it's a top-tier choice within the local context, but come with adjusted expectations."
