Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the Botanical Garden USAC as a beautiful and tranquil escape from Guatemala City's urban environment. They praise its well-maintained gardens, diverse plant life, and the fascinating natural history museum, all at an incredibly affordable price. Some wish for more amenities like a gift shop and updated museum content, but the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, highlighting its value as a peaceful sanctuary.
"Me encantó! I loved it! I visited Guatemala City for the first time and wasn’t initially looking forward to it, but this experience changed my mind. It was a much-needed escape from the busy city. Even with the car sounds surrounding me, the beauty of the gardens and the bird songs made me forget I was in an urban environment, even if just for a little while. I saw several bird species, and the museum provided so much information (en español, of course! ).
The museum has a few galleries, including one with dioramas, gems and minerals, plants and mushrooms, mammals, reptiles, insects, and marine wildlife. I only wish they had a gift shop; wildlife guides and souvenirs would have been great🤩
The 10-quetzal entry fee is very affordable, and I think it could even be a little higher to help with updates to the museum. If you’re looking for a fancy shopping experience in Zona 10 Centro Comercial here, you're going to be disappointed, because this isn't it. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. Sometimes, all you need is a little nature! Plus, it’s a lovely spot that provides a small sanctuary for wildlife in the city."

"Beautiful refuge in the middle of the city. Obviously a lot of care for the gardens, but underfunded. The attached natural history museum has a range of collections. Definitely worth a visit, consider a donation as well, they could use the support for this special place."

"Everyone with a heartbeat should go here. I probably spent at least an hour in the garden. It’s by far the best botanical garden I’ve ever been in and is VERY well taken care of. I recommend going and finding a bench to sit on, you’ll see birds of all sorts of shapes and colors. I even saw a well-mannered possum wander down a nearby path. They have a local pollinator hive on the grounds and a cute little museum as well. 10 GTQ to enter and well worth it."
