What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find the Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery to be a worthwhile visit, offering a diverse and interesting mix of local history, folklore, and art. While the permanent and changing exhibitions are praised for their content and educational value, particularly the insights into Guernsey's heritage and the WW2 occupation, some guests have noted issues with the cafe's service and cleanliness.
"An eclectic mix covering the history of Guernsey divided into themed rooms. There are also rooms dedicated to art works and photography showing the social history of more recent times. Worth a browse if you are in the vicinity."
David Renard
"This is a family friendly place with a mixture of exhibitions encompassing science and discovery with an art gallery. It’s bite sized but provides a nice afternoon of interesting, historical, and unusual displays (like the supernatural one). I don’t recommend eating at their cafe, however. Staff had poor, unhelpful attitudes and tea pot, utensils, & table were dirty, sticky & smudged. When I asked about the soup they said it would be a bowl; I literally laughed out loud when I saw it. It was a huge bowl with a ridiculously large rim and the soup was only a cupful in the middle! Nice garden out back, though."
Lily Mazurek
"Set in lovely peaceful gardens and incorporates the old bandstand from the gardens. A bit expensive at £7 to enter."
