What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Bakehouse is celebrated for its exceptional sourdough pastries, particularly its signature egg tarts, which are a must-try for their flaky crust and rich filling. While the quality of food is consistently praised, visitors should be prepared for significant queues, especially during peak hours and weekends. Some found certain items like the nectar tart or iced latte less impressive, but overall, the experience is highly recommended for pastry lovers.
"Went there a few minutes after opening and there was already a queue outside. Most are tourists trying to have a taste of their pastries.
We only waited for less than 20 minutes (thankfully) but since there's only two of us, we shared the space with 2 other tourists. I wasn't uncomfy about it but if some of you might be, you rly should entertain and welcome the possibility of sharing tables in HK. It's the norm here.
Anyway, the pastries were, as expected, rly good. The almond danish was perfectly flaky on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I loved how balanced the sweetness is. The iced latte was a li'l bit underwhelming though.
The service is also fast. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating as well.
I'll be back for more."

"This must be a Tik Tok / Instagram mecca as it's always packed and many selfies taken with food bags. Tiny artisan Bakery in a side street in Wan Chai. Easy to find because there is a queue ten deep outside the door all day. Became our holiday treat breakfast location. Food was lovely. Many pastries and bread dishes served with usual hipster kind of toppings. Avocado toast, Salmon, egg benedict etc. the local custard tarts are also great.
By the time you had added on tea and smoothies the price was quickly above $1000HKD, so definitely a treat."

"Egg tarts are flakey, crispy and delicious. The pistachio croissant was excellent. "Dirty Golden* coffee drink was tasty with cinnamon, turmeric and ginger.
Expect lines in the morning.
