"Staying in Tuen Mun, I was desperate to get in a swim. Public transportation here is great so about 25 minutes out my door I was in the beautiful, welcoming 6.3 hectares Butterfly Garden and accompanying beach. It is an urban beach with a view mostly of ships, buildings and highway, but it is a beach. It is well staffed with good facilities and regular care. The water was so welcoming, even if not crystal clear or blue."

"This beach is not beautiful as I expected. The view I could see is only the cargo ships sometime I could even smell fuel from the sea. The sand and water are not nice. But there is a park beside good for jogging and relaxing and there are some exercise equipment for elderly. There is a free public toilet"

"Butterfly Beach is conveniently accessible, with light rail, buses, and parking available. On a Saturday afternoon, it wasn't too crowded.
Nearby, there's a BBQ area, and the occasional waft of delicious food adds to the atmosphere. The sand on the beach is fairly coarse, and while the water quality is average, it's a plus that there isn't much litter around. Overall, it’s a nice spot to relax."
