Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning, panoramic views and the trail's beginner-friendly nature, making it accessible for many. However, the popularity means it can get quite crowded, especially on weekends, which can detract from the experience for some. Reddit

"The trail isn’t difficult, but a mountain is still a mountain 😅. The bus stop before "To Tei Wan", is quite close, so make sure to hop off in time. The mountain flowers are unique and gently aromatic, and the view is great. It’s definitely worth a visit."

"Made it up to Dragon’s Back this morning led by some of my favorite hosts, Manpreet Singh and Robert Wilde. Dragon’s Back refers to the ridge's undulating, spinal shape that resembles a dragon's back when viewed from above. The trail, officially part of Section 8 of the Hong Kong Trail, is a popular hiking route known for its scenic views and relatively easy difficulty. When in Hong Kong, come and experience the trails. Happy Hiking!"

"Dragon’s Back Hike – Scenic but Too Crowded 😅

We started the hike around 11 AM on a Friday in May from Shau Kei Wan (Exit A2) and took a bus to the Junction of HK Trail Section 7 & 8. E-wallets like Octopus were accepted.

While the views were stunning, the trail was surprisingly crowded even on a weekday. It was hard to take photos without people, and the heat added to the discomfort. We ended up turning back halfway due to the crowd. For a quieter experience, go early or avoid peak seasons."
