Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Dragon's Back trail for its stunning coastal views and accessibility, calling it one of Hong Kong's best hikes. It's praised as beginner-friendly with rewarding vistas, though some note it can get crowded and hot during peak times. The nearby beach offers a perfect post-hike cool-down.

"This is a fairly gentle trail through the Quarry Bay Extension of the Tai Tam Country Park on Hong Kong Island. The trail links Quarry Bay & Taikoo near Kornhill to Mount Parker Road within the country park and offers hikers and walkers quick access to nature from the city. The track is child-friendly and requires little more than basic navigation skills and hiking experience.

The trail is around 3.6 km in length with light ascents through wooded country park, skirting along north face of Mount Parker and Mount Butler. You will pass small creeks and large boulders at times. There are quite a few lookout and viewpoints of the city from decent mid-level elevations. These are nice on sunny days with good visibility.

The track is a mix of paved and natural trail and is pretty easy to follow. There are signs at major trail intersections as well to make sure you stay on the right path. Best to wear decent walking shoes, not sandals. While much of the trail is covered, there are a few exposed areas. Bring water on hot days. The walk should take around 1.5 hours give or take, depending on walking speed and how many photo stops made."

Brad
