Reviews Summary

Sai Kung offers a refreshing escape with its beautiful promenade, vibrant seafood market, and access to stunning natural islands. Visitors praise the unique 'cook-your-catch' dining experience and the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere. However, some find the seafood restaurants to be pricey, and the area can get very crowded on weekends.

"Sai Kung has a mixed bag of residents. It ranges from the common folks to the filthy rich. There are old shacks and nicely built contemporary homes.

Early morning are times for senior locals to swim on the docks or walk along the shore. Late morning particularly in weekends are for tourists. Mostly from the city but also from afar.

It is also the starting point to Sai Kung Country Park which has the island’s best beaches, 5 large white sand clear water beaches to be exact, every bit comparable to beaches in Hawaii."

Wayne Tong

"Sai Kung, is worth a visit as it shows a totally different side of HK. Essentially a fishing pier where the boats will dock with their catch. Here you will find the fisherman selling their catch off their boats , you can buy and take it over the the numerous restaurants nearby to cook it for you. Or you can just walk along the promenade where a whole row of seafood restaurants with their live fish tanks , pick one , select your seafood and have a nice meal there. Some of these restaurant are quite good though it may also be pricey. But hunt around or ask around, you will always find a reasonable place. Worth a visit indeed if you have never been here"

KP Lau

"a pier where you can find lots of fun without spending a buck."
