What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise the Island Shangri-La Hong Kong for its exceptional family-friendly offerings, particularly the dedicated family floor with its themed rooms and activities. The hotel's prime location, stunning views, and attentive service are also frequently highlighted as major positives. While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some minor drawbacks include occasional issues with room readiness at check-in and varied opinions on the buffet breakfast.
"Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong completely blew us away — genuinely the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. We were on the 45th floor, which is specially designed for young kids, and it was incredible. The room was spotless and super comfortable, featuring a cute treehouse and slide that our kid couldn’t get enough of.
The location is also fantastic — right across from a beautiful park and within easy walking distance to so many places, which made getting around super convenient.
We loved the family hangout area, where they offer plenty of healthy snacks throughout the day and host fun workshops. We even got to make arts and crafts to bring home, which was such a thoughtful touch.
Breakfast was another highlight. The buffet had so many delicious options that we looked forward to it every morning.
And the service… absolutely amazing. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. A huge thank-you to the wonderful Family Experience Team — especially Celina, Steven, Joy, Ella, Yoyo and Mia — for making our stay so memorable. Truly a 6-star experience!"

"Great stay on a quick business trip. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Great location super central and attached to shopping. Book through Amex and get free breakfast. It was amazing on the 56th floor with beautiful views. Lobby bar was also great for lunch after a long travel day. Great burger!"

"We stayed in one of the renovated rooms. The room was quite spacious, clean, and well-maintained. There are three negative things I can say about it: first, it smelled damp and was extremely cold — we were constantly battling with the air conditioning. Also, unfortunately, the room had a bad view.
Apart from that, the hotel itself is large and comfortable, and the staff are attentive. It’s very close to the metro and right next to the nicest park.
Unfortunately, we didn’t like the buffet breakfast. Empty dishes were not refilled, and there were very few options apart from Asian cuisine.
Other than that, it’s a nice hotel, and I would consider staying there again."
