What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Tai Tam Country Park for its stunning natural beauty, historical significance, and refreshing escape from Hong Kong's urban environment. The well-maintained trails and scenic reservoirs are frequently highlighted, offering a peaceful yet engaging experience for hikers and nature lovers alike.
"Its a beautiful nature park in south HK Island, but be aware that hiking through it can be really challenging. Most trails have steps so you don’t have to actually climb, but the elevation differences are vast. I hiked from Stanley all the way to Jardine’s Lookout and it made me extremely exhausted to climb up 500m in elevation, then 400m down, the 300m up and so on. There are a lot of up and downs and the trails are really long so make sure you bring plenty of water and food."

"For a taste of rural Hong Kong, Tai Tam County Park offers a series of relatively easy but rewarding hiking trails, complete with designated picnic and BBQ areas."

"A wonderful trail, that can make you, almost, forget that Hong Kong is concrete jungle! You'll be hiking along narrow wooded areas, with birds chirping all around you. The hike is a bit strenuous, but nothing you can't accomplish at a slow and steady pace.
You'll pass history on your way, as you see the wartime cooking pots.
All in all a great hike, one that will leave you exhausted and refreshed."
