"Get off mtr at Wong Tai Sin station and take 37M near exit A to Tse Ching Estate(慈正邨).
Walk along Tse Wan Shan Road to the bus terminus. You will find a staircase to Tse Wan Shan Kwun Yam Buddist Temple (慈雲山觀音廟).
About 15 minutes walk passing through the Temple, you will arrive at Lion Pavilion (獅子亭). Choose the trail opposite to the pavilion.
Going up the hill by numerous steps, you will arrive at Tate's Cairn where you will see the gorgeous panaroma view of Kowloon side.
The whole trail requires about 2 to 3 hour walk."

"Peaceful hike with no unpleasant surprises. The winds up at Tate's Cairn are strong, but the view is as good as others claim. There might be some monkeys in the first quarter of the hike. As one might expect, you can't actually enter into the meteorological station, but you certainly can go very slightly along its perimeter (CAREFULLY!) by turning right -- there is a platform to stand on and enjoy the view. There's also an overhanging rock underneath it, but it's slanted DOWN so be careful."

"Best view in Hong Kong. Even better view than the peak. Just exit Wong Tai Sin MTR and look up, you should be able to see the observatory. It’s only a short 2 or 3 hour stroll to the top, so it’s definitely worth it. Unlike the Peak, there’s hardly anyone up there. It’s not very popular for some reason."
