Reviews Summary

The Zhuhai border crossing is a functional gateway, praised for its efficiency when immigration processes are smooth and for its accessibility. However, it can become a significant bottleneck during peak times, with long queues and limited open booths leading to frustrating delays for visitors.

"Accessible though a little bit far from the city. It's clean... and can go around freely. User friendly😅🤣 as personnel are around to help if you need some."

Cherie May (CM LI)

"Excellent for locals with Hong Kong ID, but could be a complete nightmare for visitors, especially during weekends or public holidays. I came here from Macau on 1 July, which is a HK public holiday. I arrived at the Hong Kong side of immigration before 6pm, but didn’t pass the immigration until 8pm. 2 hours of just waiting in the queue with thousands of other visitors, but only 4 visitor booths were open!!!! Thousands of visitors vs 4 booths, what a joke! This puts bad reputations against Hong Kong’s image of being highly efficient, and also unfair for the hard working officers sitting in these 4 booths. Seriously, Hong Kong immigration, you could have done a lot better. The HMZ bridge is not a new thing, and 1st July public holiday has been in place since 1997, of course you can envisage and forecast this level of visitors."

Jeb Long

"It's new and it's huge. If no issues with immigration, the process is quick. However, because it's so huge, it can happen that you must go long distances. Also, two things are irritating: no toilets before passport control when arriving from HK or Macau (this is really bad if there is a queue or issues) and, in the other direction, the fact that tickets can be purchased only after emigration. If whatever happens, you would need to immigrate again to go back... Also, not all types of vehicles can be booked online in advance."
