What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Guests consistently praise Brody House for its unique artistic ambiance, spacious and individually decorated rooms, and vibrant cafe. The central location and friendly staff are also frequently highlighted as positives. Some visitors note the firm beds and the hands-off service style, which aligns with its bohemian, self-serve concept.
"Our stay at Bródy House was absolutely lovely. The rooms are HUGE—ours included a walk-in closet and a large en-suite bathroom. The furnishings are an eclectic mix of antiques and repurposed pieces. I will say that the bed was FIRM so management might want to consider a mattress topper.
Bródy House is pretty hands off in terms of the staff. Our check-in was efficient but not very welcoming. However, our check out person was more empathetic and happy to answer the questions we had about getting to the airport. There is a cafe at Bródy House and they seem to be very popular as many locals visit frequently. We ate there once and found it to be a good value with tasty offerings.
The neighborhood, on the Pest side of the city, is very authentic. Slightly seedy but not dangerous. The closer to the river, the more touristy and “polished” it gets. We only made it over to the Buda side once to tour the castle and to see Matthias Church (well worth the hike!) so I would say that the Pest side had plenty to distract us. There are many, many restaurants and bars within walking distance to Bródy House and the local transport links will get you anywhere you want to go.
We are already recommending Bródy House to our friends and hope to return in the future."
