Reviews Summary
Debrecen Public Cemetery is lauded for its vast, tranquil forest setting and the striking architecture of its crematorium. Visitors appreciate the well-maintained paths, abundant wildlife, and the peaceful atmosphere, making it ideal for strolls and quiet reflection. However, concerns exist regarding theft from tombs and limited public restroom facilities.
"It’s a cemetery situated in a big area of forest. There are plenty of paths going around and they’re fairly well maintained. The place is clean and it also acts as a park. Even though I have sad memories here I like visiting as the place is tranquil and close to nature. The crematorium building is also interesting to look at from an architectural perspective. They don’t have much information online, I’ve tried to check if small dogs are allowed to enter but found nothing. They also don’t have enough public toilets and the ones they have are not easy to find."

"It's a beautiful place but unfortunately it's not surveyed because one steals from the tombs. Whatever I put on my parents' tomb, it's hone within 3 weeks. Very disappointin, I don't dare to bring them anything for Christmas. I suggest that they employ people who observe the area and catch the thieves."

"Beautiful and huge cemetery in the heart of the Great Forest. Jaw dropping architecture of the crematorium, some very old graves and crypts. Some of Debrecen’s most prominent individuals are buried here. I love to have big strolls here."
