Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the MODEM Centre for its focus on local artists and engaging, sometimes unconventional, exhibitions. The stylish spaces and passionate staff are often highlighted as positives. However, some find the 10 euro admission fee high for the duration of the visit, and a few have noted the staff being overly watchful.

"If you are a tourist and a modern art buff then maybe you will enjoy this place. I didn't like it at all and think the admission set at 10 euros is ridiculously high for half an hour of strolling through stuff I didn't enjoy but I can definitely understand that they charge that because they must keep up the museum somehow. It is quite surprising that this museum exists in Debrecen to begin with.

If I were to rate my own experience it's probably 2 stars but I don't want to bring their rating down so I'm giving it 4. I didn't like the staff constantly watching over me like hawks, I mean there are museums exhibiting art half a millennium old and they don't have this attitude"

Klaus Wanderer

"Nice enough modern art gallery. I like that they focus on local artists rather than international ones. Lots of information to read and absorb. Its a good one hour option if you're nearby.
Friendly staff and welcoming staff

I had free entry which was nice."

Joe Macpherson

"Best museum ever. Personal was incredibly passionate about the expositions, and the expositions themselves were really really interesting. I absolutely recommend it. At the moment it's also full of really sexy rocks, which is always a plus."
