What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Turkish Baths Eger for its excellent value and relaxing atmosphere, with multiple pools and saunas offering a great hydrotherapy experience. While some find the water temperature in certain pools to be lukewarm and the saunas could use a refresh, the overall sentiment is positive, especially for a budget-friendly escape. The dimly lit ambiance adds to the tranquil feel, making it a worthwhile visit for relaxation.
"I visited this place on Tuesday. Inside you will have two finish sauna wit different temperature, infra sauna, steam sauna. One big thermal water bath and five smaller baths with different water temperature. Your ticket for 2 and half hour. Good place to relax."
Juri Mihhailov
"Great płace to visit, particularly in winter. 6 pools with different water temperatures plus 4 saunas. Dry sauna had mint essential oil scent and wet sauna had lavender. Quite nice. For the price you pay, you get 2.5 hours. It is more than enough to experience the benefits of this place."
Peter Finch
"Even better than thermal baths nearby. There are six pools (two of them were hot, around 34-36°C, the rest were colder - about 30°C). The pools are rather medium-sized, but the views completely make up for it.
There are also three saunas inside the building, but they were disappointing (aroma sauna had no aroma whatsoever and the wet sauna was stinky).
Although there is not much to do there (2 hours is absolutely enough since there are no jet douches or anything), the place is not crowded nor too loud.
Bathrooms, showers and dressing rooms could use some renovations though"

The Art of the Hammam Experience
After the scrub, a luxurious soap massage is common, where masseurs create a rich lather and gently massage the body. Some hammams also offer additional treatments like mud baths or salt scrubs for an enhanced spa experience. While some find the intensity of the traditional hammam surprising, like one traveler who described it as 'scarred for life' with a laugh, the overall consensus is that it's a deeply revitalizing and unique cultural immersion.
For those seeking a more private or luxurious hammam experience, some establishments offer private rooms or couples' sessions, perfect for honeymoons or special occasions. Regardless of the setting, the hammam is designed to leave you feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and with a profound sense of well-being.
Navigating the Pools and Saunas
Beyond the pools, the facility includes several saunas. These range from dry saunas, sometimes infused with essential oils like mint, to wet saunas with scents such as lavender. While some guests find the saunas to be a highlight, others have noted that the aroma in some rooms might be subtle or absent, and occasionally a wet sauna might have an unpleasant odor. Despite these minor points, the combination of diverse pools and saunas provides a comprehensive wellness experience.
A Glimpse into History and Architecture
While Eger's Turkish Baths might not have the same historical lineage as some New York counterparts, the architectural style and ambiance often evoke a sense of timelessness. The interior design, with its dim lighting and traditional elements, contributes to a tranquil atmosphere that transports visitors away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. This blend of historical significance and atmospheric design is a key part of the appeal for many seeking a restorative escape.
