What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
De la Motte Castle offers a charming glimpse into Baroque history with its beautiful murals and French-inspired interiors. While some visitors note that the castle could benefit from further restoration and that opening hours can be inconsistent, the guided tours provide valuable historical context. Be prepared with cash for tickets and confirm timings before your visit.
"It was closed to public eventhough the lights were on in the main hall and there were cars parked in front. According to the timings it was supposed to be open. Castle has seen much better days. It looks like a ruin rom the outside."
Cpt Brouwers
"Loved it.
The opening hours are not updated on their website (opening at 11:00 instead of 10:30).
The printed description what they gave me at the beginning of the tour is not updated (e.g. the printed paper is referring to a hunting chamber full with weapons and hunting trophies and in the reality the chamber is full with paintings of young arristocrats of the past)."
Varga Szilard
"Built in the late 18th century and only 5 rooms can be visited in the main wing on the first floor facing the garden.
The entrance on the ground floor is very nice with its wall paintings.
You definitely must drop in if you happen to be in Noszvaj!"
