Szentendre worth visiting?

I’m taking a trip to Europe with my wife and visiting Budapest for 5 days. I was wondering if I should visit Szentendre as a day trip one of the days. Would it be worth it?

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Hungarian Open Air Museum Skanzen for its incredible historical immersion and authentic village atmosphere, calling it a 'time-traveling walk.' It's highly recommended for its educational value and entertainment for all ages, though some note the limited dining options and potential for long queues. Reddit

"Unbelievably cool place, great historical vibes, super interesting! Strongly recommend to all who are into the rural European history, looking for a source of inspiration or just want to enjoy kinda time-traveling walk. A lot of entertainment for the children, fantastic tasty pastry, comfortable walking routes, many fruit trees — yes, you can even eat some berries, depends on the season of course. I'm absolutely happy about that visit!"

"I recommend to buy ticket in advance to avoid long queue. I visited this place for the Easter and it was such a good experience. There were many events and I think otherwise it is very nice place to spend time with your family for a picnic.

Be careful that there is only one restaurant and a bakery so waiting time could be longer. I would recommend to get a food and water along with you."

"Went to Szentendre with the intent of visiting this heritage museum. It is a terrific place with many buildings which were in danger of being demolished or simply disappearing. They were carefully taken apart and reassembled here. They were careful to retain the rustic nature of the buildings. Sometimes not everything is accessible due to the popularity of the space as a venue for filming movies and TV shows. Plenty of places to sit and have a picnic. Also several eating and drinking venues. Only snag I found was that on a Saturday afternoon there was no public transport back to Szentendre and I had to walk about 3 kilometres. Great place for a day out."
