Authentic Icelandic Sweater

Hi, I arrived 2 nights ago and am currently staying in Borganes after doing the golden circle. Is there any place I can find an authentic Icelandic Sweater in the next 8 days of my roundtrip clockwise? I already found Vinnustofan Rosin, but they’ll open in the beginning of June

Reviews Summary

Ljómalind Farmers Market is praised for its impressive selection of authentic Icelandic wool sweaters and unique local crafts and food items, offering a genuine connection to Icelandic culture. Visitors appreciate the friendly service and the opportunity to support local artisans. However, some have encountered issues with the quality of specific items like yarn.

"I am very disappointed with Ljomalind. I have bought things here several times and then I decided that since I sew, I will make some small things to sell here. The staff has always been very friendly and I enjoy coming here. Today that all changed. I went in there with my quilted items to try and sell them. I spoke to S and told her who I was and that I had made these items. She immediately wrinkled her nose and said "No." She didn't ask any questions about the items, look through them or anything. She said that she already had too many items in her shop and maybe later. I live locally and have been making quilted items for many, many years. I was very disappointed. I felt she said no because I'm a foreigner and she doesn't know me. I won't set foot in there again."

"Nice spot to do some local product shopping. Staff were friendly and you could source anything from a sweater to fish or even jams and other items. Good prices as well."

Jason Caldwell

"The selection of Lopapeysa (Icelandic traditional 100% wool sweaters) is impressive both in terms of design and in terms of sizes. If you are a tourist you cannot leave Iceland without buying one and I've haven't seen so many of them together before. They are pricey but they last a lifetime and the wool is local. They are very useful in damp and windy weather besides being very stylish in design and nowadays finding 100% wool is difficult.
You can also find here some local food and crafts material. The shop is neat with good lighting, well arranged goods and kind service. Worth a stop to browse and support the local community if you're passing by. I bought salad and green tomatoes jam. Both excellent and not dearer than in a supermarket."
