Björn Magnússon and his granddaughter Edda have been rescuing reindeer at Iceland’s Reindeer Park in Fellabær, near Egilsstaðir, since 2021. Although reindeer are not native to Iceland (they were introduced from Norway in the late 18th century), the reindeer population of Iceland has dwindled down from 7,000 to just 3,900. Reviews Summary

Fardagafoss is praised as a beautiful and rewarding waterfall with a unique cave accessible behind the falls. The hike is manageable and offers lovely views, making it a worthwhile stop for many. Some find the trail slippery and suggest caution, and a few mention another waterfall nearby being even more impressive.

"Pretty cool hike up the hill with another waterfall along. The hike was well managed even by my 5yo. And it was quite interesting there are stairs leading to just directly under the waterfall And be very careful and route was rather slippery."

Jiarui Su

"It was a good 20 min hike. The view was outstanding. Worth doing it. And u can go behind the water fall"

Amina

"This is a waterfall you can visit by way of a hiking trail a few km east of Egilsstaðir on Rt 93 towards Seydisfjordur. There is a small carpark on the main road. From there you find a steady uphill hike around 700 metres until you reach the falls which plummet around 20 metres before gushing down the ravine and stream downhill.

The walk is a bit demanding due to the steady ascent, views are nice throughout. You can climb down a bit at the end, finding yourself right next to the falls. It is a good opportunity for a bit of exercise if needed or desired. If not, you can pass this one up and head further into Seydisfjordur where you will find the likes of Gufufoss just next to the road."
