Here with my wife and 5 year old and will be out very (very) early tomorrow visiting some golden circle spots in hopes of beating the tour buses. Any tips on some easy, pretty walks near Selfoss? The day after, we leave for Vik and then onto Jokulsarlon so we probably don’t want…

"Beautiful black sand beach with ample parking. Gorgeous place to sit and watch the sun set! You can walk down to the beach but there is also a viewing area up some stairs to view the surrounding area."

"We enjoyed walking around the beach and looking for rocks."

"Another hidden gem in Iceland, this beach is starting at the "harbour". Looking at the sea take a right for as long as you like. Again, lots of empty space, nice view, and some easy directions to the South Pole. The vegetation on the dunes is marvellous! Lots of algae shouldn't distract but rather attract you. Enjoy your walk. If, at the harbour, you take a right up the dunes you reach a townhall. Outside, there's more info on why I put harbour in quotation marks -- hint: it's very dangerous -- and info on a Danish trade outpost."
