Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Gjáin's enchanting 'fairyland' atmosphere, comparing it to the Shire and finding it a peaceful escape from busier tourist spots. The numerous small waterfalls and unique lava formations are consistently praised, though some mention the presence of flies and the challenging final road section for non-4x4 vehicles. Reddit+1

"There are two parking lots there, one is just on the top of the complex but it's available only with 4x4. If you have a small car, you can park little more far away, and it'll take you additional 15 minutes to reach the waterfalls. The road to this parking lot is good and available for any car (at least in summer). Both lots are free. You can make a round tour to see all waterfalls and pounds, it's about 1 hour walk. It's relatively easy though you need to cross a small river jumping from stone to stone."

Alexandra Dejanovic

"Very cool getting to see a waterfall from inside a cave, but get your pictures quick because with how close you are to the waterfall, the spray will render your camera useless very quickly and there's usually a good amount of people jockeying for the perfect spot. 100% worth it."

Deric Schmidt

"Tranquil scenic place with mini waterfalls.
Hobbit land
For some reason there was a terrifyingly large amount of flies, first time I had to use my midge net.
The final section of the road is F road quality, must have 4x4."
