Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Hveragerði Swimming Pool for its authentic local feel, affordability, and diverse thermal offerings, including a unique geothermal steam room. While it's a simple community facility rather than a luxury spa, its charm lies in its genuine Icelandic experience and excellent value for money.

"Excellent sauna, hot tubs, and heated swimming pool. Looks like there was a gym there too - entry was included in the hotel reservation at the Greenhouse Hotel, which was exceptionally nice. Totally recommend and close to the Thermal River."

Angie Spencer

"Amazing local pool, with 2 hot tubs (37-39C, and 39-40C), 2 cold tubs (6-9C), 1 sauna, 1 steam room (steam straight from geothermal vents), and a 50m pool (springboard end is 3 metres deep). Unbelievably clean and such helpful staff! I wish my local pool back home is like this one...

The 50m pool is too warm for lengths but kids adored the diving at deep end. Entry was 1220isk for adults and 420isk for kids, which is great value.

Many thanks to friendly locals for showing us the Icelandic poolside etiquette 🙏"

Ada Shum

"Nice swimming pool with hot pots at 38 and 40 degrees, plus a cold barrel.
The main attraction for me was the steam bath, where the steam comes directly from the geothermal vents, with its characteristic sulfuric smell. Inside the steam room is made of wood like in saunas, very cozy!"
