"It’s has two temple yagvua..dhiguva temple..
Distance between them is nearly 7km..
Have to pass through the forest..80 rupees per 4 wheeler collected by forest officer and 150 at the lower temple..
Road is super but,from main highway to the temple half of the road is cover with corn..nearly 24kms..
This need to be corrected..
At main temple every is dirty not at all clean..
Trecking about 2km to see another temple should not be missed.."

"Ahobilam is a sacred town and pilgrimage site located in the Allagadda mandal of Nandyal district, in the state of Andhra Pradesh, India. Surrounded by the picturesque Eastern Ghats, the region is known for its rugged mountain ranges, gorges, caves, and waterfalls. Ahobilam is considered the most important center for the worship of Lord Narasimha, the fierce lion-headed avatar of Lord Vishnu, along with his consort Pratyangira Devi (an aspect of Goddess Lakshmi).
Ahobilam is home to ten shrines of Lord Narasimha. Nine represent the Nava Narasimha forms, and the tenth is dedicated to the deity’s consort.

The Nava Narasimha Temples

Each shrine highlights a unique aspect of Narasimha’s power:

1. Ahobilanarasimha – The earliest and central shrine, worshipping Narasimha in his fierce Ugra (ferocious) form.

The Tenth Shrine

Dedicated to Chenchu Lakshmi, believed to be an incarnation of Goddess Lakshmi and consort of Narasimha, worshipped by the local Chenchu tribe.

Sacred Spots in Ahobilam

Raktha Kundam: A red-tinted holy tank, said to be where Narasimha washed his hands after slaying the demon king Hiranyakashipu.

Ugra Stambham: A massive natural rock pillar, representing the legendary pillar from which Narasimha emerged.

The Ahobilam story recounts how Lord Vishnu, as the Narasimha avatar, emerged from a stone pillar at the sacred site of Ahobilam to save his devotee, Prahlada, from the tyrannical demon king Hiranyakashipu. Angered by Hiranyakashipu's disbelief that Vishnu could appear outside a pillar, Lord Narasimha struck the pillar, revealing the powerful, half-lion, half-man form to defeat the king, thus establishing the area as the revered abode of the Nava Narasimhas.

Demon king Hiranyakashipu, blessed with a boon of invincibility, began oppressing the gods and tormenting his own son, Prahlada, who remained a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu.
Prahlada's Devotion:
Prahlada's unwavering faith led Hiranyakashipu to question the presence of Vishnu in a pillar.
Lord Vishnu's Manifestation:
In response to Prahlada's plea and to prove his power, Lord Vishnu emerged from the pillar in the fearsome form of Narasimha, a unique manifestation designed to bypass Hiranyakashipu's boon.

The Battle and Victory:
Lord Narasimha then vanquished Hiranyakashipu, saving Prahlada and restoring order.
"Ahobalam":
The name "Ahobilam" is believed to come from the heavens exclaiming "Ahobalam!" (Oh, what strength!), witnessing the Lord's spectacular emergence."
