Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the awe-inspiring 18-foot Ganesha idol and the temple's serene atmosphere, often evoking childhood memories and a sense of peace. The proximity to Bugle Rock Park is also a highlight, offering a natural escape. Some find the temple closed during midday hours, and during peak festival times, crowds can be significant.

"I visited Dodda Ganapathi Temple today for Ganesha Chaturthi, and honestly, it felt like stepping into a memory.

This place was such a big part of my childhood — visits with family, waiting in line with a tiny packet of flowers in hand, craning my neck just to get a proper look at the giant Ganesha idol. Even now, after all these years, He looks just as majestic… maybe even more so. The energy inside the temple during the festival was something else — drums beating, bells ringing, the smell of incense and jasmine in the air. It took me right back.
What really moved me, though, was the way the temple sits quietly surrounded by nature — the old trees swaying in the breeze, the rocky paths, the birds chirping from Bugle Rock Park nearby. As a kid, I didn’t think much about all that. But today, I noticed. I lingered. I just stood there for a while after the darshanam, soaking in the calm, feeling the wind brush past me like a familiar friend.
It’s strange and beautiful how some places don’t really change — and yet they make you feel like you’ve grown.

More than anything, it reminded me of home — of simple joys, of faith that doesn’t need words, and of how comforting it is to return to a place that still welcomes you the same way it did years ago."
