Chandigarh was Indias first post colonial city and the Indian government wished to make a clear statement as to how modern and forward looking the new country would be. le Corbusier was engaged to effectively design the layout of the whole city including the large public buildings that forum the Capitol Complex. The concrete brutalist architecture is not to everyone's taste but I thought the buildings were stunning. As with most courts members of the public are able to enter the building and individual court rooms. It is however only possible to enter the whole Capitol Complex as part of an organised group."
