Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Suvarnadurg Fort for its breathtaking sea views and historical significance as a Maratha naval base. The boat ride adds to the adventure, though it can be challenging for some. While the fort is in ruins and lacks maintenance, its unique island location and connection to Admiral Kanhoji Angre make it a memorable experience for history and nature lovers.

"Amazing place! The views from this fort are breathtaking. Watch your step here as it is a little dangerous, especially the chor darvaza. Although the fort is in ruins and not maintained, it is still a must visit if you come to Anjarle or Harnai.

You can come here via boat, it cost us around 400 per person from Anjarle beach, but that on a weekday and we were 5 people. If your boat is full on the weekend, you should get a better deal. They give you 30 to 40 mins to explore the fort, which is plenty of time."

"The fort is kind of spooky, it is on a deserted island in the middle of the sea. You can go there by renting a boat from Harnai Beach, Cost is 200 Rupees per person. Not adivasable for old people to go here as boarding the boat at the fort is a struggle."

"I went there on a Sunday at around 11 am
(The boats are available from around 9 am to 5 pm).

The local fishermen offer a two-way ride for ₹200 per person.
(which is quite reasonable.)
(please don't negotiate with them, support local businesses)

The ride takes about 15 minutes.

They let you explore the fort for 30 minutes, but this can be negotiated to about 45 minutes.

Start from the right side. Walk along the fort walls.

Go to the chor darwaja also to see the view.

Sharing a few videos and photos that I captured."
