Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the breathtaking, almost otherworldly views of the Chambal River gorge, often comparing it to the Grand Canyon. The spiritual ambiance of the Shiva temple and the natural beauty, especially during monsoon and sunset, are highly praised. However, the lack of facilities and the challenging road conditions are noted drawbacks.

"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My visit to Garadia Mahadev Temple was one of the most awe-inspiring experiences I’ve had in Rajasthan. Perched high above the Chambal River gorge, this spot feels almost otherworldly — as if nature itself pauses here in reverence. The view from the cliff is absolutely breathtaking: the river bends gracefully through deep, rugged valleys surrounded by towering cliffs and endless blue sky. It’s one of those sights that photographs simply can’t do justice to — you have to stand there in silence to truly feel its power.

The temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is small and simple, but its spiritual presence fills the entire landscape. The sound of the wind and the faint ringing of temple bells echo through the gorge, creating an atmosphere of divine stillness. I visited just before sunset, and watching the sun melt into the horizon, painting the Chambal golden, was a moment I’ll never forget.

The route is well-paved up to a point, but the last stretch requires a bit of careful walking, especially during the monsoon. Carry some water and wear comfortable shoes. Garadia Mahadev is not just a viewpoint — it’s a sacred meeting of nature and divinity. If you’re ever near Kota, don’t miss this place; it’s Rajasthan’s own “Grand Canyon,” but with a soul."

"One of the best hair raising hill and river view spots you'd ever see in India. A unique bend of the river, lush green valley and waterfalls everywhere (during rains only). A very small yet beautiful Shiv ji temple few steps below the parking area. Fresh spring water keeps flowing in the temple area, you may carry a bottle / jar to collect the same. Please note there is nothing available here, no snack shop, not even water, so please do carry. Roads are bad so take a good vehicle. Its inside a wildlife sanctuary and the charges are quite steep considering zero facilities and zero infrastructure. But a beautiful spot and you can enjoy the nature at its best. Its around 25 km from Kota city mall."
