Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Navapashanam Temple a truly unique and peaceful spiritual experience, with its Navagraha deities set directly in the sea. The ability to walk through shallow waters to reach them is a highlight, offering a palpable sense of mythology and devotion. While erosion has altered the stones' appearance, the serene seaside atmosphere and the belief in astrological remedies draw many.

"Visited the Devipattinam Navagraha (Navapashanam) Temple, which is located in the sea.. a truly unique and peaceful place.

The temple doesn’t have a building…instead, the nine Navagraha stones are set right in the water and are believed to have been installed by Lord Rama himself before he went to Lanka, after performing a pooja here.

You usually walk through the shallow water to see them, but during our visit, due to high tide, no one was allowed to go inside as the water level was high. Those who experience it say it feels very special and spiritual.

It’s calm, quiet, and gives a unique, relaxed feeling by the seashore. Parking is available (₹40), and you can complete the darshan in about 15–20 minutes. Definitely a must-visit spot near Rameswaram for its unique setting and spiritual energy."

"Visited the Devipattinam Navagraha (Navapashanam) Temple was a truly unique experience 🌊🙏 — unlike any other temple I’ve seen. The nine planetary stones are set right in the sea, and walking through the shallow waters to reach them gives a magical feeling ✨ if you're spiritual. Locals believe Lord Rama himself installed these stones before going to Lanka, and you can really feel that spiritual energy here. It’s especially beautiful in the morning when the tide is low 🌅. Just be ready to get your feet wet, and soak in the mix of mythology, nature, and devotion — a must-visit if you’re exploring around Ramanathapuram or Rameswaram 🛕💙.
I had a relaxed feel being on the sea shore at a quiet place."

"It is an interesting temple and one of its kind. It has no building. There are 9 idols of 9 Navgrah which installed in the waist deep sea water by Bhagwan Ram himself.

These Navgrah are made of navpashanam. However due to erosion there are no visible features left. The vigrahs just look like stump of stones. At time of high tide only 5 Grahs are visible and remaining are submerged. However at high tide also the water is waist deep only.

This place is known for parihar of various astrological dosha such as Navgrah shanti, Brahmhatya dosh etc. Rate chart for every parihar is place at entrance.

The Navgrah are surrounded by an open gallery type structure all around from where one can view Navgrah on inside and sea view on outside.

The parking is available."
