We chose to travel by public transport, reaching Diveagar around 6 PM. As dusk set in, we hopped into a last-mile auto that zigzagged through gorgeous winding roads surrounded by nature. We found a rock temple on the way there.. completely empty and which wasn't on out itinerary. Beautiful and peaceful. We also stumbled upon a quaint homestay — simple, colorful, and deeply charming. It felt like walking into a painting from another era — romantic in the most unexpected way.

Story 2:
Years ago, an old woman reportedly discovered a gold Ganpati mask while ploughing her field — said to date back to the era of Shivaji Maharaj. She donated it to the local temple. On a visit years later, we saw it displayed in bulletproof glass, with CCTV cameras monitoring it — a surreal mix of history and modernity. Sadly, on a more recent visit, we were heartbroken to learn the mask had been stolen.

Story 3:
One evening, we arrived late at 8 PM — too late for dinner, it seemed. Our auto driver recommended a mess run by an elderly couple. Though most food was over, they warmly offered us simple dal and rice. Their grandchildren, visiting from abroad, eagerly served us. That humble meal — full of warmth and sincerity — was the best we’d had in months.
