"It is a mountain railway started by Britishers in the year of 1908. It is a toy train and gives a pleasant journey which passes through 16 tunnels and many hills. The journey of the train starts from Mettupalayam railway station and ends at Udgamandalam/ Ooty railway station. The journey takes around four hours to reach the destination. It has four coaches two non ac reserved and one ac reserved and one non reserved coach. The journey is very beautiful and pleasant. The good thing is that the driver stops the train at many view points where you can click the photos."

Book tickets well in advance for conformed seats or else you have to wait for hours to buy offline at the ooty railway station. FC ticket has good space and legroom but if you can manage to sit then even 2S is ok. Try to book from Ooty - Mettupalayam or Mettupalayam - Ooty to enjoy the ride maximum."
