What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Golconda Fort for its immense historical significance, stunning architecture, and breathtaking panoramic views of Hyderabad, especially at sunset. While the fort is a must-visit for its grandeur and photographic opportunities, some reviews mention that maintenance and cleanliness could be improved in certain areas, with occasional issues like litter and graffiti detracting from the experience.
"We visited Golkonda Fort, and it was an impressive experience. The fort is massive, with many steps and elevated points that offer fantastic views. From the higher areas, you can see the entire city of Hyderabad, which is breathtaking. The surrounding greenery adds to the charm, and there are plenty of great spots for photography.
Maintenance & Cleanliness:
Being an old fort, the maintenance is decent but could be better in certain areas. Some parts were quite smelly and unclean, likely due to birds inhabiting those spots, so improving cleanliness would enhance the experience.
Overall Experience:
Despite minor issues with maintenance, the fort is a wonderful place to explore. Its history, architecture, and panoramic views make it a must-visit when in Hyderabad. A good mix of sightseeing, photography, and nature."

"It's a wonderful fort and definitely worth a one-time visit. The climb and the top of the fort offer picturesque views. There is no cloakroom inside the fort, so it's better to come without bags. If that's not possible, you can either carry your bags or leave them in private cloakrooms outside the fort. Tickets can be purchased from the counter or online. The counter wasn't very crowded, making it easy to get tickets. For cameras, you need to buy separate tickets, which are only available at the counter."
