Reviews Summary

Visitors often praise Galta Ji for its unique atmosphere, the lively monkey population, and the beautiful temple architecture. Many recommend the rewarding walk from Galta Gate for the best experience. Some note that the site can be dirty and that hassling from locals is possible, but these are often outweighed by the overall charm and spiritual feel of the place.

"Beautiful place, the monks are taking well care of the place. One monkey got a nice hat for the sun, and the other his favourite meal. For a really fair price you can even swim in the monkeysheit-lake. 100% recommended"

Mátyás Grőger

"I was shocked to see this place had a 3.7 at my time of arrival. I really enjoyed this place as it was a good way to get away from the noice and the “beep beep”. Stay away from the tourist traps, be responsible, hold your belonging close as the monkeys will possibly make an attempt to steal stuff. Great chill moment with the monkeys and beautiful buildings."

M Dudz

"Contrary to other reviews, we had a great experience. We weren't hassled at all, and the place was packed. The colour, noise and atmosphere were amazing. Yes, it's dirty, but if you want a 5 star sterile experience, then India probably isn't for you anyway.
We chose to walk up and down, on the way there and back, which is tough going in the heat. It's about a 4-5km round trip. There are tuktuks, which may cost you R200 each way.
If you visit Jaipur then the monkey temple has to be on your list."
