What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors often praise Rajasthali Emporium for its inviting atmosphere, wide selection of authentic Rajasthani handicrafts, and attentive, non-pushy staff. It's a great place to find unique souvenirs and decor. However, some recent reviews indicate concerns about declining product variety and quality, with occasional issues like broken zippers and potential overpricing compared to other markets.
"It was a very inviting, cool space to shop in peace. I stayed a long time and had a proper look around.
There are some very affordable souvenirs here starting from about 180 Rs and upwards. I fell in love with a gorgeous armchair. A couple of padded stools and a wonderful elephant bed cover. Unfortunately the shipping is more than the item, but at least they can DHL for you if you wish.
I particularly liked the ceramic collection and the Papier mache boxes.
They have gems and jewellery, brass, paintings, textiles, furniture, metalwork, wood and so much more.
The staff are attentive but don't push you and that is why I bought here.
They accept cards and cash.
Thanks for the nice experience!"

"Used to always come here when visiting Jaipur. They used to have a lot of variety of good quality.
Visited two days ago and there was very limited choice.
We bought a bean bag cover. The day after I saw that the zip was broken. As we were leaving Jaipur I did not have a chance to return it. Will never buy from this store again as the quality and choice of products are not what they used to be."

"They do not pay the vendors and keep ignoring and avoiding the Team. Rajasthali is highly unprofessional. We worked as their digital marketing team, delivered everything as promised, yet they refused to clear our payment. This shows a complete lack of integrity and respect for collaborators.
Vikas who sits on the front desk was the one who signed in the contract and did not pay at the end of us working with them.
They take services but do not value commitments or professionalism. Service providers and agencies should be extremely cautious before working with them, as they do not honor their financial obligations."

The Allure of Rajasthani Handicrafts
Beyond textiles, the emporium is renowned for its jewelry, featuring both traditional Kundan and Meenakari work, as well as more modern designs. The ceramic collection, particularly the iconic Jaipur Blue Pottery, is a must-see. Its distinctive blue hues and floral or geometric patterns are instantly recognizable. Other highlights include wooden artifacts, metalwork, and paintings, each piece telling a story of Rajasthani craftsmanship.
It's important to note that while Rajasthali is a government emporium, aiming for authenticity and fair pricing, some recent visitor feedback suggests a potential decline in product variety and quality control. Therefore, while shopping, it's always a good practice to inspect items carefully for any defects.
Shopping Experience at Rajasthali
Payment is straightforward, with the emporium accepting both cards and cash, making transactions convenient for international and domestic tourists alike. For those who fall in love with larger items like furniture or decor pieces, DHL shipping is available, though it's worth noting that shipping costs can sometimes be significant.
While the emporium aims to provide authentic goods, some reviews have pointed out that similar items might be found elsewhere at lower prices. However, the assurance of government authenticity and the pleasant shopping environment are key draws for many visitors.
The Significance of Government Emporiums
By purchasing from a government emporium, shoppers can be more confident about the authenticity and ethical sourcing of the products. Unlike some private shops that might inflate prices for tourists, government-run stores aim for fair pricing, reflecting the true value of the craftsmanship. This also helps in ensuring that artisans receive a fair share of the profits.
However, it's worth noting that the operational efficiency and product variety in government emporiums can sometimes be inconsistent. While they offer a guarantee of authenticity, it's always wise for shoppers to remain discerning and compare options if possible, as suggested by some traveler experiences.
