Visitors are impressed by the deep descent and the ingenuity of its construction. However, some reviews mention concerns about maintenance and cleanliness, with occasional issues of litter and odor in the lower sections.

"An amazing example of ancient water engineering inside Uparkot Fort. Navghan Kuvo is a deep stepwell, cut straight into solid rock more than 1,500 years ago. It was built during the reign of the Chudasama rulers, named after King Navghan, and was a lifeline for the fort during long sieges.

Walking down the narrow spiral staircase into the cool depth of the well is an experience in itself. The craftsmanship and the idea of storing water so smartly in those times is truly impressive. Even today, the well feels alive with history and makes you wonder how people managed life inside the fort centuries ago.

A must-see spot when visiting Uparkot Fort, especially for history and architecture lovers."

"This is one of the oldest and deepest step well in India located in Junagadh, Gujarat. Good place for photography lovers. It is 9(નવ) storey deeper downstairs. So, it is called navghan kuvo. If you step down the well, you will notice that the temperature of the atmosphere has been decreased drastically. You will find good spots for photography. There are many keyholes in which you will be able to find the nests of the birds. Overall nice experience to visit this place."

"one less star for not keeping the lights on which spoils the photograph. people come from far away places to visit these places, having a good picture is one of your souvenir."
