"This place is best for calmness and serenity.. You have to book FRH Kalatop on call from Chamba Wildlife office. Generally you will get Transit lodge which is located at last of FRH area, but these rooms are quiet comfortable. If you have any contacts with higher officials then you can book rooms of high end which are located right near the main gate and are best for scenic view and garden access. Room charges are 1000 Rs for one night and you can get extra mattress and blanket with minimal charge of 300 Rs. The place has kitchen also with a chef, but you will get general food on order. There is market attached with the FRH, where you can get basic snacks. Best time for visit is Last week of December, if you want to witness the snowfall. To reach at FRH Kalatop, travel from Dalhousie to Lakkar mandi on Khajiar road, then you have to take left road at Lakkar mandi gate. There is 2.8 Kms terrain road which leads you to FRH Kalatop. If you are coming here during snowfall, please make sure you have 4X4 vehicle."

"One of best forst rest house in Dalhousie. Location is very nice. Area of FRH is large. Room is also very good, room heater also available in every room. You can stay for one night. Booking available only over the phone one week before stay. Only three rooms available for public apart reserve for govt. Official or VIP. Per room charges Rs 1000/- for one day. Basic food available on demand. Food quality is very good and tasty. You can enjoy the sun set from rest house."
