What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Travelers rave about the Kochi Water Metro as a refreshing, scenic, and eco-friendly way to explore the city, offering a unique experience akin to a houseboat ride. The modern, comfortable boats and well-organized system are frequently praised, making it a great option for families and tourists alike. The primary drawback mentioned is the need to purchase separate tickets for return journeys.
"The Kochi Water Metro is a wonderful initiative, especially the route connecting Vyttila and Kakkanad. We had heard about it and decided to experience the ride, it turned out to be a delightful outing. The scenic landscapes along the way were beautiful, and the ride gave a feel somewhat like a houseboat, making it especially enjoyable for kids and families.
The journey takes about 25 minutes one way with no stops in between, which makes it smooth and relaxing. The boat halts for 7–10 minutes at the destination before returning, and we had just enough time to check out, buy tickets again, and board the same boat back.
The only drawback is that you need to buy fresh tickets for the return journey, instead of having a round-trip option. Hopefully, this will be improved in the future.
Overall, it’s a scenic, safe, and unique experience. Another plus is that the water metro station is within walking distance from Vyttila Metro Station, making it very convenient to access."

The staff is polite and helpful, and the whole system feels well-organized. It’s a great way to avoid traffic and enjoy a scenic commute. Whether you’re a local or a tourist, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try!"

"Excellent arrangements for a nice water ride in Kochi backwaters . A caution to visitors regarding window seats which are occupied by individual members of groups. We came first, but entry to boat opened from rear que thereby last in first out rule applies"
