Early Years Craftians visited the Kerala Museum  at Edappally. It is one of the oldest art and history museums in Kochi. All our tiny tots enthusiastically viewed around the three galleries of Kerala Museum: the Museum of Kerala History, the Dolls Museum and the Gallery of Modern Art. More than the information gathered, they all enjoyed a joyful trip with their peers outside the school premises. ...

Reviews Summary

Visitors find the Museum of Kerala History to be an affordable and educational experience, particularly for its unique sound-and-light show depicting Kerala's past. While some note the setup is a bit dated, the Dolls Museum and Art Gallery are appreciated additions. It's considered a worthwhile stop for students and history enthusiasts.

"Nothing much available to see, some paintings are available and few taken to some other place as the place hosting some exhibition.

Finally one hall is there where Kerala History is shown clearly with some statues from begining era till Independence. Theme looks good but very old set up fo which they won't allow to take photos.

No much visitors, I visited here after seeing the name "Museum" but not worth."

"The Museum of Kerala History
The Museum of Kerala History, located along the National Highway between Aluva and Kochi, about 10 km from Ernakulam, is one of the most fascinating cultural landmarks in Kerala. Started Madhavan Nair himself now it is manage by the Madhavan Nair Foundation. The museum offers visitors an opportunity to travel through the state’s long and vibrant past in an engaging and memorable way.
The highlight of the museum is its unique sound-and-light show, which compresses more than two thousand years of Kerala’s history into about 35 carefully crafted scenes. The show features around 90 life-size statues, each created with reinforced concrete and artistically painted to bring characters and eras to life. What makes it particularly striking is the attention to detail: the attire, arms, ornaments, and jewelry are all true to the period they represent, making the exhibits feel authentic and immersive.
The narrative starts with prehistoric times, before moving into the early centuries around 100 AD and continuing through significant phases of Kerala’s political, social, and cultural evolution. The story concludes in 1966, providing visitors with a sweeping overview of Kerala’s history.
What I liked most remarkable was how successfully the museum has compressed such a vast history while still managing to preserve the essence of Kerala’s culture and identity. The experience is both educational and inspiring, making it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the state’s heritage."
