"Kozhikode railway station (also known as Kozhikode Main railway station)(station code: CLT[2]) is an NSG–2 category Indian railway station in Palakkad railway division of Southern Railway zone. It was given by Kallingal Madathil Rarichan Moopan to the British Indian Railways for a lease agreement of 99 years.[3] It is one of the largest and major railway stations in the state of Kerala. At ₹200 crore (equivalent to ₹249 crore or US$29 million in 2023) in financial year 2018–19, it is the largest in terms of passenger revenue in the division.[4] The station has four platforms, two terminals and a total number of six tracks. The first platform has a capacity to accommodate trains with 24 coaches and second & third platform has the capacity to accommodate 20 coaches; and the fourth one has the capacity to accommodate 24 coaches.[5] It has a daily turnout exceeding 25,000 passengers. It is one of the major railway stations in Kerala with trains connecting the city to other major cities in India. The other railway stations in the city include Ferok, Kallayi Kozhikode South, Vellayil and West Hill."

"I have known this railway station since my childhood ( 50 years plus !) and many cherished memories are associated with it. This is one of the oldest railway stations in Kerala and has been the nerve centre for trade and commerce for many years and much connected with the history of the city.
The station has all the facilities and amenities typical of any Indian Railway station. What is distinct and noticeable is that Kozhikode railway station is comparatively maintained well and clean !!
There seems to be some renovation work in progress to give a facelift - look forward to seeing what is in the making."

The platforms are spacious and trains connect well to major cities. It’s easy to reach, with a bus stop right in front that takes you to major parts of Calicut.
But during peak hours, it gets super crowded, and finding a seat can be tough. Also, the auto and taxi stands outside get kinda messy so plan ahead if you’re catching a ride. Still, it’s a solid station and good enough for most travelers passing through Kozhikode❤️"
