Reviews Summary

Visitors find Nana Saheb Peshwa Memorial Park to be a peaceful historical site with a museum showcasing artifacts from the 1857 revolt. While the park is maintained and offers a serene environment with a boating lake, some feel there's potential for more engaging, modern exhibits to better represent the historical significance of the 1857 uprising.

"The park was good. However, there should be more attempts by the government to attract tourists more. There were trees, a small lake for boating, a food area, a museum, statues of fighters from the 1857 revolt etc. The museum consists of guns, weapons from the 1857 revolt, revolutionaries work, Gandhi 's hand written notes of Harijan and other magazines, letters, ancient coins, some rare photographs. However, apart from that outside museum, the things seem to be rather scattered. There should be more structures equipped with modern technology and services to show the glimpses of the 1857 revolt and the role of different revolutionaries, fighters etc in that. Today, there is an abundance of interesting research around the 1857 revolt. There can be a whole art gallery consisting of interesting facts and key figures. The matter is the whole area itself is not situated in the main kanpur city, it is in the outskirts. I found very few people roaming around. The staff were playing romantic songs from the 1990s on some sound system. However , the staffs' behaviour was good. In order to make the place look more beautiful, trees should be grown more densely. We should know how to preserve our history."
