Visitors consistently praise Gurudwara Yahiyaganj for its profound peace and spiritual atmosphere, highlighting its deep historical significance tied to Sikh Gurus. The welcoming langar and the opportunity to connect with divine teachings are frequently mentioned positives, making it a must-visit for solace and historical insight.
"Visiting Gurdwara Yahiyaganj in Lucknow was deeply moving. This 300‑year‑old shrine marks the sacred resting place of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and more remarkably, the extended stay of Guru Gobind Singh Ji—from sometime in 1672 for approximately two months and thirteen days, while travelling from Anandpur Sahib to Patna Sahib .
During this period, he penned a precious hukamnama and mool mantra that are still preserved here. The atmosphere is peaceful, with spirited kirtan filling the air and a beautifully maintained darbar.
Seeing Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s original handwritten note—a personal instruction urging devotional practice, chanting “Waheguru,” and support for Paonta Sahib—felt incredibly special and connected me directly to history .
The langar is warm and welcoming, and the management graciously shared historical context. This place is essential for anyone interested in Sikh history or seeking a moment of serenity in the heart of Lucknow. Highly recommended!"
