"Gurudwara Shri Manji Sahib Alamgir is a historic Sikh shrine located in the village of Alamgir, about 10 kilometers from Ludhiana, Punjab. It holds great significance in Sikh history as it commemorates the visit of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh Guru, in 1705. After leaving Anandpur Sahib, Guru Ji and his followers faced many hardships. At Alamgir, a devotee named Bhai Naudha offered his humble hospitality to the Guru.
It was here that Guru Gobind Singh Ji shot an arrow into the ground, and miraculously, a spring of fresh water appeared — this holy site is now known as “Tirsar.” Guru Ji also baptized several followers and blessed them with the Khalsa spirit. The Guru gifted Bhai Naudha a small comb and a “Manji” (a wooden cot), from which the Gurudwara derives its name, “Manji Sahib.”"
