What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Ludhiana Tiger Safari offers an affordable glimpse of wildlife, with the tiger being the undeniable highlight. While the variety of animals is limited and the 'safari' experience is brief, the low entry fee and proximity to the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum make it a worthwhile quick visit, especially for families. Some visitors note clean facilities and active animals during cooler months, though food options can be a drawback.
"This zoo is located right next to the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum. To enter the zoo, first you will have to get a ₹30 ticket at the counter.
There is not much to see here just a few wild animals. such as deers, a jackel ,a leopard, and peacock, parrots, ducks. Tiger and black Himalayan bear are not present here, even though some people use their photos in reviews when these animals are not even in this zoo. Due to the very small number of animals, my experience was not very good, which is why I would like to give it a 1 out of 5 rating."

The Tiger Safari Experience
It's important to manage expectations regarding the 'safari' aspect. It's more of a controlled viewing of the tiger in a semi-naturalistic habitat rather than an extensive wildlife expedition. The nominal fee for the tiger safari makes it an accessible attraction, especially for families looking for a quick wildlife thrill. The zoo has faced challenges with its tiger population, but efforts are made to maintain a presence, with recent reports of new tigers being introduced.
For the best chance of sightings, visiting during the cooler months (October to March) is recommended, as animals tend to be more active. Weekday mornings can also offer a less crowded experience, potentially leading to better viewing opportunities. Remember to be patient and enjoy the moment of seeing these magnificent creatures.
Beyond the Tiger: Other Animals and Attractions
Beyond the animal exhibits, the safari is conveniently located next to the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum. This proximity offers a fantastic opportunity to combine your wildlife visit with a cultural and historical exploration of Ludhiana. The museum showcases artifacts and information related to Sikh history and Punjabi heritage, providing a well-rounded day out.
Despite the criticisms regarding animal variety, the zoo plays a role in wildlife conservation and serves as an educational platform, particularly for school groups. The clean facilities, especially the toilets, have been noted as a positive aspect by some visitors, adding to the overall comfort of the visit.
