What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the unparalleled opportunity to see thousands of King Penguins up close in their natural habitat. The remote location and adventurous journey are often highlighted as part of the unforgettable experience. Some note that weather can impact visibility, and the journey can be rough.
"If you’re visiting Mahabaleshwar, Mumbai Sunset Point (also known as Bombay Point) is an absolute must-visit! It’s one of those rare places where nature paints the sky with such breathtaking beauty that time seems to pause.
The viewpoint offers a panoramic view of the sun dipping beyond the majestic Sahyadri hills, with shades of orange, pink, and gold reflecting off the lush valleys below. The atmosphere is lively yet peaceful — families, couples, and photographers all gather here to witness the magic of the sunset.
The best part? You can arrive a little early, enjoy some local snacks like corn, chikki, or fresh strawberries from nearby stalls, and watch as the light slowly transforms the landscape. The cool breeze, the sound of distant laughter, and the golden glow make it a truly memorable experience.
There are also horse rides and small food vendors, adding a charming touch of local culture. Even though it can get a bit crowded during weekends, the energy of the place is vibrant and joyful.
✨ Pro Tips:
Reach at least 30–45 minutes before sunset for the best view and to grab a good spot.
Carry a light jacket — Mahabaleshwar evenings can get pleasantly chilly.
Don’t forget your camera — every frame here is postcard-worthy!"

"It is one of Mahabaleshwar’s most iconic and oldest viewpoints. Situated along the historic Old Bombay Road, this spot offers a breathtaking panorama of the sun setting over the Sahyadri hills, casting vibrant hues across the sky. It's a favorite among photographers and nature enthusiasts seeking to capture the mesmerizing transition of day into night.Horse riding, game zone, food stalls available here."

"If you visit this place during monsoon, you might be a little disappointed cuz as the name suggests sunset point there will be nothing to see except fog and cool breeze.
But it is a good place to click pictures and spend time with family and if you wanna ride a horse you can sit on one.
You will get food items like corn, onion pakodas, maggie, tea and lots of stuff here, the road towards this point is a little narrow but you can manage to drive if you are experienced.
Overall if you visit this place in winter season i think it will be worth it more than monsoon season."
