What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Malampuzha Rock Garden is lauded for its unique artistic concept, transforming discarded materials into captivating sculptures and mosaics. Visitors appreciate the creativity and the blend of art with nature. However, a recurring concern is the lack of consistent maintenance, which detracts from its full potential and value for the entry fee.
"Actually, it's a couple's spot!
Recently, I visited this place while I was in Malampuzha. Unfortunately, the Malampuzha Garden was closed for renovations, so my colleagues and I decided to find an alternative. We discovered this place on Google and decided to check it out.
When we arrived, the exterior looked small and cramped. However, once we entered, we found it to be surprisingly spacious and pleasant for walking around. The only issue was that there were couples in nearly every corner, which made me feel like I was intruding on their time together!
If you're planning to visit this place with family, I suggest reconsidering. There isn't much to see here; it's mainly filled with broken stones and fragments, which have been used to create sculptures, designs, and walls. That's about it.
Best wishes to all the couples who visit!"

Rock Garden at Malampuzha is a unique attraction, filled with beautifully crafted rock sculptures that showcase creativity and artistry. Walking through the garden is a delightful experience, with each corner offering something interesting and picturesque. It’s a place that blends art with nature, making it a memorable visit.
However, the main drawback is the maintenance. With better upkeep, the Rock Garden could truly shine as a world-class attraction. Despite this, the overall experience is very good, and it’s definitely worth visiting for its artistic charm and cultural value."

The Artistry of Malampuzha Rock Garden
While the artistic concept is widely appreciated, several visitor reviews point to a need for better maintenance. Some areas are described as not being properly looked after, which detracts from the garden's potential splendor. Despite these concerns, the sheer creativity and the unique nature of the artworks continue to draw visitors. It's a place where art meets nature in an unconventional way, offering a different perspective on public art installations.
For those interested in the inspiration behind such gardens, a visit to the original Rock Garden in Chandigarh, created by Padma Shri Late Nek Chand Saini, is highly recommended. Malampuzha Rock Garden stands as a unique attraction in Kerala, showcasing a blend of local artistry and environmental consciousness.
Visitor Experience and Maintenance Concerns
However, a significant point of feedback across reviews is the inconsistent maintenance of the garden. Several visitors have noted that certain areas are not well-kept, leading to a less-than-ideal experience. This lack of upkeep has led some to feel that the entry fee, though nominal, is not fully justified by the current condition of the park. Some reviews even mention that the garden can be covered within 30-45 minutes, suggesting that its appeal might be limited by its size and upkeep.
Despite the maintenance issues, the garden remains a point of interest for its artistic merit. It's often visited in conjunction with the nearby Malampuzha Dam, making it a convenient stop. For those who appreciate unconventional art and the concept of upcycling, Malampuzha Rock Garden offers a worthwhile, albeit brief, experience.
