Reaching there requires a short off-road stretch (not tarred), so having a vehicle with good ground clearance helps.
The tower view during golden hours is breathtaking, and it’s also a great beginner-friendly spot for birdwatching. Don’t expect too much luxury indoors — the bed is a simple one (not a spring mattress). The room had the basics like a table, a teapoy, and some charging ports.

"My overnight stay at the Bird Watch Tower was truly unforgettable. Situated along the banks of the Maravakandy Dam catchment area, it offered two cozy rooms, and I was lucky to be allocated the top floor room.
As a passionate bird watcher and nature lover, I was in paradise here. The variety of bird species around the area was astounding, and I could spend hours sitting by the water, soaking in the picturesque views.
Although the tower didn't offer food options, I didn't mind taking a short trip to Masinagudi town for some delicious takeout. Despite being part of the Mudhumalai Tiger Reserve, I felt completely safe exploring the surroundings.
